Carousel Ride!

Mom had to run to the mall today.. so we went for a ride on a panda and a dragon!

Fort Part 3 (All Mommy)

As you can see we added curtains to the fort! It is now Red for the living room and Purple for the kitchen area. What Fun!

Hats Hats Hats!

Maxwell has been loving putting on hats all by himself lately.. What more can I say?
Liam usually never leaves his on for more than 2 seconds. I think he was inspired by 'Swell's" sudden interest!

Fort Building Part 2 (Mommy)

Well step one for us was to cut some windows and build some doors that swing open. With that done, we then built a kitchen table/counter inside the "kitchen" box with a "pass through" to the"living room".
Step three was to "prime" or gesso the entire thing, then we will paint it Maxwell's choice of colors.. Red and purple!

Liam cooperated with us and slept through the first coat process... not so much for the red and purple coats!

All that's left for us is to decorate an install a mailbox!
(will keep you posted on progress)

Snow Day Part 2!

We bundled up and went outside to play in the snow finally today.... We have missed the last few snowfalls due to colds and coughs, so today we are healthy and made it out!
Pictures tell the story.. Maxwell had a blast.. Liam, not so much... too cold!

Gone Camping!

We are really into tents these days. Destroying the couch and pulling out blankets and making forts.... that is a rite of passage for ALL children, right? SO I really need to take a deep breath and not be so OCD about my appearance of my living room....... right?

OK . I can do this....
they really have a good time.... and it's only furniture!!

Snow Day!

Today is a snow day...
People in the Northeast, Northwest, and upper Midwest would all cringe and laugh at us down here in Missouri, however when we get a few inches, the city SHUTS DOWN!!!!
ALL schools and colleges are closed today.. I think we got a whopping three inches.. maybe a little more.. anyway.. today will be a day of making pudding, fine tuning our fort with paint and tape, and possibly making Valentines.... of course we will bundle up and go for a walk to go play in the snow!!

Fort Building Part 1 (Daddy)

Ok... Just because someone is an architect by training... doesn't necessarily mean that the first fort will be of the latest modern design, however, boxes, dark spaces, a few blankets, a good book and a teddy bear are all ingredients to a perfect play "cave" for Maxwell and Liam.
Daddy is on duty on Tuesdays, and last night I arrived home to find this great set up!
I think today - (see snow day) we will tape and paint it, and add windows and doors! ( see Fort Part 2 (Mommy) )...

Just an update on all our activities....

Well I haven't been taking many pictures lately... Sorry... So I will just have to tell you all about the stuff that has been going on here in the Arnold household.

Well early January brought Maxwell's third Birthday, which was so much fun!
Then, a week later, came the winter sickness.. Luckily both boys fell ill with the cold the same week so we all hunkered down and stayed INSIDE for 8 days!! LONG DAYS!!!
Oh that was so hard.. and of course we had bitter bitter weather here so we couldn't even brave it so a car ride! It was rough.. but we made it through with no trips to the Dr. and no anti-biotics, just two icky noses and terrible coughs!

We recovered, and now are bursting with energy, well they are at least! So we are visiting with friends again, and we joined a new playgroup and Maxwell is back to school(PDO) two days a week! Maxwell loves his school, and when Liam and I drop him off, Liam loves it so and begs to stay! I carry him out kicking and screaming (truly a lovely sight). This week Maxwell has his Valentines' Day party, and we are getting all his little cards ready to share!
We will also be making homemade chocolate cupcakes and decorating them this week before Thursday..
I have been trying my hand at making Felt cupcakes ( maybe I will post one someday at the other - well, art site), to give as little Valentines' , and so Maxwell has been talking about real ones too!
This weekend was fun around here! Daddy was out of town for three days last week, and he got home late Friday night, so the boys did not let him out of their sight all weekend! We braved the masses and went to see "Sesame Street Live" on Saturday night.. What a fun experience.. they rally were too young to quite understand the whole thing.. and the attention spans were not too long, but the cotton candy was the reward ( for all of us) and we headed home at intermission.. but it was fun to watch their faces looking at all the singing and dancing....

Sunday brought a day of play and fun around the house and then it was off to "DeeDee-Bob's" (one word) to have a Super Bowl party... the kids love going to their house and have been asking for days to go, so it was fun to hangout with friends, eat, and surprisingly catch a good football game! Go Giants!!

Well, one of these nights I will have time to throw on some new photos of the monkeys and wil get to updating this more, until then.. Arnold's Out!
